@Abhishek_12 is right!
Everyone’s addicted to their mobiles, with screen time ranging from 8-9 hours or more. Even kids are addicted. I request parents to limit mobile use for children and instead engage in activities like playing chess, Ludo, outdoor games, going for walks, or family gatherings without phones. Let’s minimize our screen time and that quality time with family, like going for walks or having meaningful conversations, learning new skills, instead of mindless scrolling.

We are practiced to scrolling reels in insta , youtube etc., but it is difficult to totally stop them but can be reduced. We can read books , or can do journal and do painting etc..,

We all know that constant phone use can silently steal our time, energy, and peace. The real problem is we often don’t even notice it until we feel exhausted, unfocused, or disconnected from the real world.But here’s something that helps — replacing screen time with heart time.
Try this instead:
Spend time in nature even 10 mins of fresh air can calm the mind. Play games or just talk with family or friends offline fun hits different. Pick up a book let your mind wander in stories, not scrolls. Help with housework or cook something new it feels grounding and refreshing.Explore hobbies you love or always wanted to try painting, gardening, DIY crafts, etc.

Mobile phones have become an integral part of our daily life. From communication to entertainment to even doing professional works, we now depends on mobile phones. Do we really track down our screen time? No would be the answer for majority, including myself. It has become hard for us to control our screen time which in turn has reduced our indoor and outdoor activities. We can try setting out a limit for screen time by engaging in other indoor and outdoor activities like playing sports, gardening, reading books, having face to face talks with your family and friends rather than chatting on phones. Try taking these small steps and gradually you will get your screen time under control.

Yes nowadays having long screen time is a normal thing. By watching to many reels the attention time of an individual is reducing. People are so addicted to 10-20 seconds reels that they cant concentrate if the video is longer. Screen time limits doesn’t work effectively because we know that it can be turned off at anytime. People are loosing self control and patience.

@Abhishek_12 you are right. Even if we use mobile just before sleeping we don’t fall asleep so quickly. Uneasiness, some stress inthe mind still going on that disturb your sleeping pattern.

To minimize screen time, set daily limits using built-in tools on your devices and schedule regular breaks to rest your eyes. Create tech-free zones like the dining area or bedroom to avoid unnecessary use. Turn off non-essential notifications to reduce distractions, and replace screen time with activities like reading, exercise, or hobbies. Being mindful about when and why you use your devices helps build healthier habits and improves overall well-being.

Screen time is like junk food—fine in moderation, but too much leaves you drained. Your eyes, body, and mind beg for breaks. Look up, stretch, and give yourself the gift of screen-free moments. Small changes, big difference!

This is so true! I also feel tired and distracted after using my phone for too long. To reduce screen time, I keep my phone away while studying and turn off extra notifications. I also use screen time tracking to stay aware. Some people use greyscale mode to make the screen less attractive. Playing outdoor games or reading books helps too. We need to control phone use before it controls us

i will go out and spend time with my friends to reduce the screen time.

Excessive screen time creates a lot of mental fatigue and if one is just simply scrolling the mobile phone most part of the day by sitting at one place, it can create fatigue in the body as well. Our bodies should move everyday for proper blood circulation and proper distribution of oxygen inside the body and this is what creates the vitality of our inner-being. To protect myself against a lot of screen time on mobile I use a lot of techniques, a few of them are, I have moved my most-used applications to the last page of the home screen and this restricts me to reach them often. I prefer to wear a wrist watch during the day so that I do not have to see my mobile for the time. I use my phone applications in every one or two hour, when I am not anticipating anything urgent work-wise or phone calls from home and family. I have a “clock photo” on my lock screen and I have put that purposefully, so that it keeps reminding me the value of time and every evening after 5 pm, I change it to an image that is describing my mood of the day and something that I’m feeling like visualizing that day based upon the day’s emotions. This allows me to stay mindful with calmness even if I am watching my phone in between. I always keep training my brain so that it can tolerate taking short breaks without the involvement of mobile and I keep extending this break time every week or month, so that I can go beyond my comfort zone.

You’re right @Abhishek_12 phones are super useful but they can take a toll on our health if overused. To manage my screen time, I turn off non-essential notifications, avoid using my phone before bed and try to spend more time outdoors or with people in real life. Another good tip is keeping the phone out of reach when focusing on work or studying. Small changes really help!
