Motherhood comes with “Mother Load”, which makes this beautiful journey a living hell sometimes. What is “Mother Load”?
Heavy mental and emotional labor to manage a household and family. Mental labor: Always tracking tasks in the brain continuously. Emotional labor: Managing the emotional environment of the family, including the child’s emotional needs. Practical ways to tackle the “Mother Load”:
Drop the idea of a perfect mother and the guilt, and set practical targets.
Don’t try to do everything alone; if possible, just ask for help. You can drop some work, and that’s okay.
Set healthy boundaries and take care of yourself. Try to eat properly at least once a day. Stay hydrated and prioritize your sleep sometimes.
In case of high stress, take time out. Put down the phone and go for a walk.
It’s okay to be overwhelmed. Nobody is perfect. Every journey has ups and downs; nothing to be ashamed of. A mother should be proud on themshelves, they are creating a future society.
Anyone want to share any survival tips or their overwhelming experience? Please tell us in the comments.
Motherhood is beautiful, but the mental and emotional load that comes with it is often underestimated. Asking for help, setting boundaries, and taking care of yourself are not signs of weakness—they are essential for a healthier motherhood journey.
In my opinion spending time with them and share about our day will make them more overwhelming and happy
Beautiful post! Motherhood and the struggles that come with it are often overlooked, yet it’s one of the most valuable and priceless phases a woman can ever experience.
Most mothers are pressurized by their own husband in name of thier childs.
She knows how to take care of it. Aprreciating her efforts is itself gives a confidence.
Second is societal looks on mother and child.
These two must be controlled .
This really resonates. We often celebrate motherhood but forget the invisible mental and emotional work that mothers carry every single day. Sometimes just hearing “you’re doing enough” can mean so much. Every mother deserves support, rest, and kindness—not just from others, but from herself too. Thank you for highlighting such an important topic.
This is such an important conversation. People often notice the physical demands of motherhood but overlook the constant mental and emotional load that comes with it. A little understanding and shared responsibility can make a huge difference.
2 things I would say is surround yourself with people who love you first. My family and friends were my ultimate support system. And 2nd learn to say no. No to unwanted advice and interference.
You know every mother is a warrior after all she keeps doing and providing too much for their children, husband and their family and that’s called motherhood they don’t even care of themselves and they look for us with so much efforts.
As per my opinion we should appreciate their efforts and spend time with them and make her feel that they are not alone.
That’s really true that motherhood comes with loads of responsibilities and a overwhelming feeling. Motherhood should never come with stress and feeling of being captivated. It is a natural part of women’s life and should come with joyful feeling.
