As a fresher, we already face tough odds no experience, high competition, and now algorithms deciding our worth.
Recently came to know about this and wanted to share.
Companies use AI to screen resumes faster. But here’s the twist,
that AI is trained on past hiring data and guess what, that data often favours candidates with experience, big colleges, or certain locations.
So, even before a human sees your resume, AI might have already rejected it.
You may not be judged by who you are
But by who others were before you.
Fresh talent deserves fresh thinking. Not recycled bias.
If you’re a fresher feeling stuck after applying to 50 jobs with no response, maybe it’s not you the problem is.
Yes. The main thing in rejecting freshers is the algorithm that company has set for particular job or post. Due to this many talented candidates are getting rejection.
I will say, let AI do it’s work and let all of us do what we can to build our professional life, because AI can never completely wipe off human intelligence and human touch on anything.
Few things that a fresher can do is:
Building online presence like having a professional LinkedIn profile and addition of all the work projects there including the internships or projects done. Besides LinkedIn, there are some other platforms as well through which one can make a professional profile
Networking with people and experts from the same field
Crafting resume by using the important keywords that are used in JD (job description), as this can help in matching through AI to some extent.
Instead of targeting a huge company for the first job, startups and mid-sized companies can be targeted where hiring is mostly done through HRs.
AI may not give you the platform to display your potential, but you can exhibit the same in front of a right person by showing them your raw talents.
