Standing Out as a Fresher: What Really Catches Recruiters Eyes?

Many freshers meticulously tailor their resumes to fit job descriptions and highlight similar skills. Despite this, only a few actually get noticed, while most applications seem to blend in.

What are the key strategies or elements that can truly make a fresher’s resume stand out from the rest? Is there something essential that many freshers typically overlook or lack when applying for roles?

I would love to hear insights, tips, or real-world examples from who have successfully navigated this challenge.

I think showcasing the actual skills in your resume, that can help company identify you as a being a part of their team, is really helpful in getting noticed. Like showing your leadership qualities, by adding how you have managed a whole event
Being in extra curriculum activity really helps identify people who are more energetic, team-player and can manage more than one thing.

As a fresher, I believe a resume that shows a good record of industrial experiences and workshops is a sure shot way to get noticed. It is proof of your dedication outside of academics.

As a fresher fulfilling the skills required by the company is important and the knowledge gained by the skill matters. Choose a company and know about their services this will be one of the interview question . And here comes the skills getting certification doesn’t help with that what you have learned i required by them. How you answer them is also one of the important thing.

Though you are fresher but updating yourself with today’s scenario is essential. Hunger of learning things, prepare yourself for taking work pressure are something recruiter looks for.

I am a fresher, and also looking forward to a detailed response from an experienced professional. Which might help many future professionals to get a job in their desired profession.

I am someone trying to do transition into other nonclinical fields. As a fresher i also would like to know about it.

Here the main problem is recruiters are seeking the candidates who are experienced. And no recruiters are interested to take freshers. so that many freshers are not getting selected If we apply for the position where they mentioned clearly for freshers. They still reject the application of freshers and take the experienced candidates. Here they are not interested to give chance to freshers but they are mostly seeking for the people who work fast and already know about the work.

Thank you

As a fresher i am looking for the answer by the industry person. So that he/ she can elaborate on the required skillset and dos and donts about the profile.

I think as an Fresher what really matters to the recruiter is your basics should be clear and you should have a valuable training, projects and certification during your college.

If freshe have less opportunity but resume should be the game changer it should b prepared in such a way that each and everything should be mentioned clearly like work experience qualifications this will help

I feel even if one is fresher, their CV can stand out based upon the internships they have done including both research lab and industry experiences. In some cases, the topic of internship matters too; as if the topic is a significant one in global research, that’s more valued and credible. Besides, extra certifications beyond the regular curriculum makes the CV strong including any poster or oral presentations done at any conference. Besides, software skills that one is aware of, that also matters like if you can operate any software related to the field that’s in high demand. Moreover, the recruiters also see your communication and presentation skills, your skills to be a team-player or independent worker if the job demands you to function mostly alone.

What do recruiters notice mostly on resume of a fresher?

According to me i feel they will check first if the candidate has done any internship or certificate course which would be relative to the job and good communication skills and other skills which are required

Many fresher’s focus on matching keywords but forget what truly grabs a recruiter’s attention, that is proof of skills. Do projects, internships, or academic work can be turned into achievements.
