Are they safe for long term use!?
Safe but not effective in long term. Not established in any studies yet…anyone with different opinion are welcome to enlighten me
Don’t know about the effectiveness.. but those with nutritional deficiencies have to take supplements for better health.
They might lead to some side effects in long term use.
Multivitamins and supplements can be useful for certain deficiencies for a period of time but I don’t think they are going to replace healthy balanced diet and long term use can have side effects.
If diet fails, multivitamins can fill up dietary shortages, but they don’t have fiber, antioxidants, or the synergy of entire foods. They should be used temporarily in accordance with medical advice; they should not be used as a permanent dietary substitutes.
I don’t feel we can depend on multivitamin for long term usage.
We should focus on getting a balanced diet and taking supplements as and when required after consulting a doctor to prevent any toxicities.
Well said, but people suffering from vitamin deficiencies it is necessary to consume supplement for them but for a short period of time if prescribed by doctor otherwise opt for natural sources
The researchers concluded that multivitamins don’t reduce the risk for heart disease, cancer, cognitive decline (such as memory loss and slowed-down thinking) or an early death. They also noted that in prior studies, vitamin E and beta-carotene supplements appear to be harmful, especially at high doses.
Like if we take multivitamins and supplements so, from my point of view it’s not good because we take for long time and it’s not effective. We take these supplements when we are going through with any weakness so, for recovery then we take these supplements and multivitamins
Long term use of any medicine causes certain S/E.
However for a person not taking a good balanced diet, multivitamin may help to overcome vitamin deficiencies.
Example:- for females Iron supplement is a good source to overcome iron deficiency Anemia.
If a balanced diet isn’t achievable despite many efforts, multivitamins and supplements can help fill nutritional gaps. They’re not a perfect substitute for real food, but when used wisely, they can support long-term health and prevent deficiencies.
Multivitamin tablets and supplements will be effective for a time interval.
Intake of vitamins through food is better.
ABC juice/day is good for skin, Hb, vision, body fluid contents.
During severe case of anemia, vitamin deficiencies - these multivitamin and supplements can be taken for a particular time interval.
Yes, multivitamins and supplements can help in the short to medium term when a balanced diet is not consistently achievable — but they are not a perfect substitute for whole foods in the long term. Thus, it is better to use supplements judiciously as a backup but not the primary source.
