Think Before You Sip: The Dark Side of Tea with Milk

•Every morning, countless medical professionals start their day with a hot cup of tea- a ritual that brings comfort, warmth, and a quick burst of energy before the long hours ahead. Tea, by itself, is rich in antioxidants like catechins and flavonoids that support heart health, improve focus, and fight inflammation.

•However, when milk is added, the proteins in milk bind to these antioxidants, reducing their effectiveness. This means the health-boosting qualities of tea are greatly diminished. Over time, regular consumption of tea with milk may also contribute to digestive discomfort, reduced iron absorption, and skin problems in some individuals.

•People who regularly drink tea can experience headaches and fatigue if they skip it for a day due to caffeine withdrawal. Caffeine in tea stimulates the brain by blocking sleep-inducing chemicals, and the body adapts to its regular intake. When it’s suddenly missing, brain blood vessels widen and energy levels drop, leading to headaches, irritability, and tiredness until the body readjusts.

Are you addicted to tea? How many times a day do you drink tea?

I am not addicted to tea . I drink tea only one time

I’m not addicted to tea, but I do enjoy it once in a while. I think the problem comes when we depend on it every single day for energy. Our body can actually function well with proper sleep, hydration, and healthy food instead of relying only on caffeine. Tea is nice for a mood boost, but balance is more important.

Really thought-provoking, Tea may seem harmless, but it can actually reduce the absorption of helpful antioxidants from the tea. It’s not often talked about, but small habits like this can affect how much benefit we get. Maybe it’s worth exploring black tea or herbal options instead of always sticking with classic milk tea.

I love tea, but I’m not dependent on it. Even if I skip, I’m okay.

I like tea…. And yes I have read about all the points you have mentioned… the funny part is, even after knowing the facts I couldn’t resist myself… a minimal quantity doesn’t cause any harm I believe, rather than forcing myself to avoid tea completely.

I am not addicted to tea, but many prople around me have that addiction. It is they are unable to function properly without having it. I think we all can have and enjoy tea, until we set a limit for intake.

This is very interesting, I didn’t know that milk could bind to antioxidants and reduce their efficacy in the body when consumed. Although I am not a tea or coffee fanatic, caffeine withdrawals are very common amongst a lot of people I know. This could be combatted with decaf substitutes or electrolytes. It is worth addressing that caffeine addictions and fatigue are usually symptoms of underlying health problems.
