One fine day, my semester exams started and continued daily for a week. I was happily attending the exams, and everything was going well.
But when the pharmacology exam approached, the night before the exam I felt stressed, anxious, and very nervous. I couldn’t remember drug classifications, mechanisms of action, or even some basic definitions. At that moment, I felt that I would fail pharmacology and was convinced that I would get a backlog in that subject.
After that, I couldn’t sleep because I kept thinking about the next day’s exam and felt a lot of pressure. Then I made a decision—I stopped thinking about the exam and started watching a comedy movie. It made me feel relaxed and stress-free, and I finally fell into a deep sleep.
On the exam day, from morning until the exam, I was able to recall and revise all the topics from my notes very well. Finally, I completed the exam confidently and secured a good percentage.
This experience taught me;
- the stress and anxiety lead to memory block and couldn’t remember anything.
-By reducing the stress will gain the memory.

Yeah true some topics or subjects makes us anxious, we are good at it but also we feel the pressure when the exam approch, just breath meditation can calm yourself and everything will be good.
I can recall a similar experience but the subject was microbiology. Unfortunately I remember that I did not try to relax, instead I doubled down to study harder. As a result , I did not get enough sleep , I woke up feeling exhausted and ended up blanking out during the exam. I managed to pass the exam, but it taught me the importance of a good night’s rest before any major exam.
I too do the same thing a stand up comedy episode before my exam to ease me a good sleep then wake up early to revise. Even if one studies with that stress amount of contents one retains will be less
I’ve felt this too, before a tough exam, panic wiped my memory clean.
Stepping back, resting, or distracting myself always helped everything click again.
