Tips to stay calm before exams

The medical journey has many exams we face as we go through various semesters. Certain things that I used to do as a person fearing exams were…

  • :pizza:Good food the night before the exam
  • :zzz:Good sleep for relaxation
  • :red_apple:Light breakfast before the exam
  • :100:Only flash cards and pointers for revision, and not the entire chapter
  • :television:Watching an episode of my favorite series or anime (just one to prevent binge watching)

:fallen_leaf:What are your ways to overcome this fear of exams and keep the mind calm??? :fallen_leaf:

Honestly my no.1 was to stay away from people who used to say “ sab kuch parhlia, 5th revision chalri hai and all” :joy: but you should believe in yourself and your preparation and trust that everything will go in your favour
Also few tips that helped me:

  1. Stay hydrated and eat healthy food it helps your body to function properly and work in stressful situations for longer hours.
  2. Eat dry fruits they are brain super foods.
  3. Stick to one single book throughout the year and study only that book before the exam.
  4. Teaching your fellow mates its a very underrated technique but actually helps to retain.
    Hope it helps!!

The only thing i used to say to myself before exams: “Hojaye ga, tension na ly hojaye ga, Kuch na kuch to kr hi lega”. I just used to remind myself that exam days will eventually pass-by and there is no point in dwelling over it.

To stay calm before an exam, practice deep breathing exercises, visualize success, and engage in physical activity like yoga or a short walk.

Prepare well in advance, get adequate sleep, and maintain a positive mindset.

Avoid last-minute cramming, stay hydrated, and arrive early at the exam venue.

These strategies can help reduce stress and boost confidence, ensuring you’re calm and focused for the exam.
