Pulse Polio Program

Pulse polio program was started in 1995 in India. The program use oral polio vaccine. Main motive is not a single child should miss the polio immunization and leave any chance to polio occurrence.

Children aged 0–5 years are the main target group for Pulse Polio rounds.Vaccination is delivered during National and Sub-national immunization rounds.

This program had achieved the there vision which to make india polio free. India was certified polio-free by WHO in 2014, but sustained high immunity and surveillance help reduce the risk of reintroduction and outbreaks.
