India’s commitment to prioritising women’s health reached a new milestone with the launch of Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan, a nationwide health campaign designed to deliver comprehensive healthcare services to women, adolescents and children.
On 17 September 2025, the Government of India launched this joint initiative of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and the Ministry of Women and Child Development. The campaign conducted from 17 September to 2nd October 2025 followed a Jan-Bhagidari model, encouraging participation from government, private hospitals, NGOs, and community volunteers.
Objectives of the Abhiyaan-
SNSPA aims to bridge long-standing gaps in women’s and children’s health through:

Comprehensive health screening for women, adolescents and children

Strengthening maternal and child health services including ANC, immunization and wellness care

Early detection of non-communicable diseases like hypertension, diabetes and cancer

Screening for communicable diseases like TB

Nutrition and anaemia control, aligned with Poshan initiatives
-
Awareness and behavioural change covering menstrual hygiene, nutrition, lifestyle and mental health.
