It depends upon individual to individual. But these days, gym is a good idea. I used to play a lot of Cricket, but will say Table tennis, badminton etc are more accessible and save time.

Honestly, anything that makes you feel good and keeps you moving works. Even a short walk, or playing something helps. It’s more about doing it regularly and liking it—fitness should feel freeing, not forced.

It totally your choice, it could be any sports, swimming, yoga anything which gives you a sense of satisfaction. For me it was always weight training and running.

I personally would recommend joining gym and walking daily. Occasionally pick a sport to play.

There isn’t a single activity that can be considered the best for everyone—it truly varies from person to person. Fitness itself has multiple dimensions: it can mean mental well-being, weight loss, weight maintenance, the release of happy hormones, and more. That’s why it’s important to dedicate 1 to 1.5 hours each day to some form of physical activity that you enjoy.

Personally, I prefer going to the gym, dancing, or doing cardio workouts. You can choose from a variety of options like aerobics, Zumba, cycling, gym workouts, or any form of dance. The key is dopamine release—the more dopamine your body releases, the fresher, more satisfied, and more energetic you’ll feel. So, pick what works best for you and makes you feel good.

Walking or jogging is the best physical activity for a medico as it boosts mood, enhances cardiovascular activity and can be done alone.

If walking or jogging is not your thing, you can also try yoga, dancing, or sports like badminton and basketball.

For a medico, a suitable daily recreational activity could be:

  1. Yoga: Enhances flexibility, balance, and mental well-being.
  2. Brisk walking or jogging: Improves cardiovascular health.
  3. Swimming: Low-impact exercise for overall fitness.
  4. Cycling: Boosts cardiovascular health and leg strength.
  5. Stretching or light gym: Maintains flexibility and strength.

Choose an activity that:

  • Fits your schedule
  • You enjoy
  • Provides a good balance of physical and mental relaxation

Aim for at least 30 minutes of moderate-intensity activity daily.

You can start fitness journey
Just be consistent and try to hit gym everyday
As a medical student it’s really hard to be consistent for every day
Second you can get into badminton
A very good form of cardio

Some of my batchmates plays volleyball in daily basis

You can get into swiming if you have swiming pool in your college or else nearby
