Social pressure to maintain image: gadgets, birthday parties, outfits, trips. Is it really going to benifit us ? Or just to fit in the society.
Some people engage in such behavior just to maintain a certain societal image or to appear aligned with whatever their so-called “vibe” is. This can easily be avoided by not taking social media too seriously.
Sometimes, people feel like they need to have fancy gadgets, go to parties, or wear new clothes just to look good to others.
But true happiness comes from friends, family, and doing what you enjoy, not just trying to fit in or impress others.
It’s more important to be yourself and do what makes you happy.
Honestly, most of it is just to fit in and keep up appearances. True value doesn’t come from gadgets or flashy moments it comes from growth, peace of mind, and real connections. Let’s not lose ourselves trying to impress a scrolling crowd.
I think it’s depend on our individual choice.
Just for in the society and doesn’t impact too
half the time it’s just us trying to impress people who aren’t even paying attention
Well , hehehe IDC I am happy being in house
You are actually lucky for being in house.
Same, @Sakshi !

On the surface, these things might offer temporary joy or validation. A new phone might boost confidence, a party might earn social media likes, and a designer outfit might win compliments. But are these real measures of worth?
Beneath it all, many people are quietly battling debt, stress, and burnout—just to maintain an image. The pursuit often feels endless because the bar keeps rising. What was “cool” last month is outdated today.
Real fulfillment comes not from external validation but from meaningful connections, self-growth, and living authentically. If we constantly chase approval, we risk losing touch with who we really are.
To buy something just because “everyone has it”—one has to pause and ask:
“Is this really me? Or just a mask to fit in?”
I think it depends on person to person. But yes, for many it is just for maintaining themselves according to the society which may not work for a long time .
So better do what makes you happy from inside if you are making societal burdens affect you trust me it won’t help you anywhere.
it has become increasingly common now to plan trips and maintain a fancy lifestyle after social media gained so much importance. We all are falling prey to it oblivious about how it affecting us and our bank balance! The best way is to stop ourselves from posting status to show the public. This will automatically reduce our need to do fancy things out of our reach.
Sometimes, spending of money may be due to peer pressure.
For birthday parties, gifts, batch trip+other things needed for trip, its expenditures… so on.
Yes, peer pressure does make many people spend more than needed just to maintain a certain image. Social media has made it worse, where everything is about showing off.
Everybody is behind this now. But after a point people will focus on being at peace, become more private and not exposing our lives in media.
Everbody are busy in this now to show off in their friend circle and spending spending more than that can they afford just to maintain the image in society and on social media platforms
Now a days its a trend of being updated in social media its a great way in touch with family friends and keep up to date latest news but under pressure is not necessary its just a entertainment purpose
When individual knows about his/ her requirements and needs then it should not be affected by the peer pressure.
Yes, most of us succumb to peer pressure at different points in our lives. And oftentimes these attempts to fit in leave us feeling emptier than before. But if we are in tune with ourselves and our needs instead of trying to follow the crowd, this can be avoided.
Peer pressure is true.
We try to reach their level even when we cannot afford.
