This brings back a flood of memories. Here’s what a typical day looked like during our internship days:
9:00 AM – Reach college and sign the attendance register at the dental office.
Head to the department where we’re posted, and yes, another register awaits!
We’d usually divide ourselves into three groups:
Old Case Team – Follow up on previous cases, fill out case sheets, get staff approvals, and guide interns/students on next steps.
New Case Team – Take up fresh cases, do initial diagnosis, get staff approval, and ensure everything is logged in the logbook.
Support Team – Assist juniors, assign cases, guide them on clinical steps, and help with presentations or materials.
Lunch Break – A brief pause to refuel and share clinic stories.
Evening – We wrap up follow-ups, complete appointments, and collect signatures for the logbook.
End of the day – Head back to the dental office, sign the out register, and finally… back to the hostel.
Some days were tiring, others inspiring — but every day taught us something new. Grateful for those chaotic, hands-on, real-world learning moments.
