Why do we feel stuck in life?

When life is going pretty normally, still on some days we just feel stuck. Days when gathering motivation to even get off the couch requires a lot of effort and will. We are on rest mode physically, but still something feels like it is draining us.

And, when we search for the intellectual guru residing inside us to enlighten us with the reason behind this feeling, we find no answers.

Days pass, nothing changes, and this feeling lingers on.

What’s the reason behind this feeling?

When you feel stuck and miserable without any reason and procrastinate all day, just ask yourself these questions: Did I make my body move even a little? Did I eat food that nourishes my body? Did I do anything for my body, mind, and soul? or Did I do anything that grew me?

The reason behind this feeling usually lies in our routine—our poor dietary choices, constant consumption of content, and sedentary lifestyle.

How to get out of this phase?

We feel a lot of resistance in this phase, and in the effort to fix everything at once, we procrastinate even more. So, just attempt to make a single positive change at once, and you will soon get back the control on your days.

  • Move a little, breathe some fresh air and stretch
  • Eat a nourishing food of your choice.
  • Replace scrolling reels with a hobby—dance, paint, sing, read a book, anything you like
  • Learn a new skill to upgrade yourself.
  • Connect with your loved ones.

Scientific Point of View:

We often forget that our hormones play a significant role in our emotions. And the above-mentioned small changes release happy hormones and pull us out of the stuck phase.

  • ENDORPHINS uplift our mood when we move or exercise.
  • SEROTONIN gives inner calm when we eat a nourishing food
  • Long-lasting DOPAMINE is produced when we engage with our hobbies, giving inner satisfaction.
  • OXYTOCIN is produced when we connect with our loved ones.
  • CORTISOL, a stress hormone, is significantly reduced.

TAKEAWAY

Remember, you don’t have to fix everything all at once; just find an anchor that keeps you going in day-to-day life. Because on some days when life doesn’t move for you, you need to choose your life consciously and keep moving.

Thank you dear!

Thank you for this thought. It’s a reminder that mental health isn’t just about ‘pushing through,’ but about recognizing when our neurochemistry is signaling a need for a pivot or a pause.
