Lets be honest after working 24- 36hrs. The hospital barely pay the intern 20k or some doesn’t pay at all !!! Should be the stipend compulsory for all the interns on duty? What you think ?

A compulsory stipend should be implemented. It may provide financial support and opportunities.

Though, in our field i.e. Physiotherapy - Recently in new curriculum it is mentioned that now STIPEND will start for the interns. Yes, that’s right..NOW!
Though, don’t know when it’s going to be implement. BUT YEAH - Now just looking at the positive side ahead.
Before that, things were not as good as the efforts, the interns were putting in. But,i think it’ll going to be better from now onwards.

So that they can pay there own bills.

Minimum wages rule should be applicable. Then we will see jump in stipend amount.

Even paying for rent ,for travelling expenses, food expenses. Everything is getting high and using us as full time employee.

That’s actually really bad when it comes to unpaid internship and worse for FMGs who face discrimination along with unpaid internships … Hopefully the issue gets addressed !!!

Absolutely, a stipend should be compulsory. Interns work long, exhausting hours with real responsibility—often handling emergencies and patient care. Not paying them is unfair and exploitative. At the very least, they deserve financial dignity for the service they provide.

Compulsory stipend should be paid.
In most of the colleges, it’s paid less. It should be raised and paid uniformly in all colleges.
