Should PharmD Interns Be Paid?

Let’s be honest
PharmD interns in India spend full-time hours in hospitals, doing rounds, reading charts, giving drug information, and learning on the job.

But here’s the catch…
Most of us get paid exactly ₹0.

No stipend.
No allowance.
Not even travel compensation in many cases.

We’re told it’s for “exposure” or “experience.” But exposure doesn’t pay for meals, rent, or travel.

Meanwhile, other fields like MBBS, nursing, and even engineering interns do get stipends.

So here’s the question:
Do you think PharmD internships should be paid?
Why or why not?

Let’s talk about this openly :backhand_index_pointing_down:

Yes, PharmD internships should be paid at least with a basic stipend to support students, acknowledge their clinical contribution, and uphold the professional dignity of pharmacists in the healthcare system.

Not only pharmacy other pharamedical interns also need to be paid as working for long hours , assessing the doctors for whole day, and planning the procedure for all these they at least need to paid some stipend.
