Which subject in med school gave you nightmares?

Let’s be honest, we all had that one subject haunted us no matter how hard we tried.
For me?
Pharmacology & Physiology
One confused me & the other made me overthink.

Drop your nightmare subject below and don’t forget to share your experience haha!

In dentistry, Dental materials was a really dry subject. Can u imagine we would memorize the composition, bonding strength and various physical properties of different materials?
I always wondered why do I need to study all these things when the dental materials we use in clinical practice is manufactured in the labs!

medicinal chemistry

I will not call it nightmare, but Anatomy was not my cup of tea. To some extent, neurology (but now I realize it was not taught to us well, otherwise Neuro is fascinating). Ortho is useless

For me, it’s pathology. I felt all microscopic images to be same, difficult to distinguish.

To me, it’s a MICROBIOLOGY. It really hard to learn those microorganisms names along with their characteristics. How it will affect different parts of the body differently. It’s really tough.

Anyone there, who can share the best approach to perceive microbiology as a subject? Looking forward to it.

Micro is easy. Tell yourself that you love it and it would love you back. From Evolution point of view, unicellular organisms were the first to be formed under the water in optimal conditions. And they are still the most abundant organisms on Earth,
Make flash cards and revise.

Totally get you! Dental Materials sounded more like chemistry than dentistry
And yeah, it’s so true most of it never shows up in real practice!

Ahh yes, Medicinal Chemistry was a real brain twister! :face_with_spiral_eyes:
All those structures and pathways felt endless haha.

True that, doctor.
And yeah, Neuro is actually super interesting when it’s taught well.

I totally get that! All those slides started to look the same after a point

Glad I’m not alone in this!

That totally counts!

That’s a deadly combo right there!

Pharmacology really humbled a lot of us.

I liked learning Pharmacology, but it was a little hard to memorize.
