Student life

Which subject scared you the most in 1st year?
Though anatomy was fun to learn and study the confusions it created with all those origins and insertions of muscles and anatomy of bones. During exam and especially during viva I just hoped that I remember all the things I studied because in anatomy we can’t even beat around the bush when you don’t know the answer. It is either you know it or don’t know it.
Yeah @lakshmi, learning the origins, termination, and its action, along with clinical implications, could be very tiring and confusing. Being accustomed to minimal learning in high school and then tackling this vast topic could be quite terrifying too.
Not quite during the first year, but I had biochemistry in 2nd year. And no matter how many hours I studied, I couldn’t crack the subject. I still get nightmares about all the cycles
.
Anatomy was overwhleming initially but once we saw the structures and understood how to learn it, it became better.
Yes, Even My difficult to go through subjects were anatomy and exercise therapy because both of them has a lot to remember and we almost confused the concepts of both the subjects.
Yeah, the cycles are always a nightmare, even while preparing for NEET PG. I would rather avoid them for life too, if possible.
When the subject is vast, it really becomes quite difficult to remember every detail.
For me it is Biochemistry feels overwhelming for me in first-year B. Pharm because it’s so vast, and memorizing all those complex cycles is incredibly tough. It used to be a total nightmare I couldn’t grasp it, and even when I cram for exams now, the stress hits hard.
Biochemistry is a complex and vast subject indeed @G.Maha. How did you manage to study it in the end? Any tips?
Anatomy undoubtedly ![]()
Human Anatomy and Physiology ![]()
Anatomy was a constant trauma
Physiology books and their weight alone gave me back pain back then.
Biochem as i feel it as a dry subject with all the cycles and molecular reactions.
Biochemistry cycles were the nightmares
My biochemistry ma’am’s guidance and her well-explained notes have helped me tremendously. She explains complex topics in a simple manner, which has been a huge asset for my exams.
Yeah @PadmajaRajana, the cycles and concepts remind you of the chemical equations in chemistry. Even remembering mnemonics required mnemonics back then.
Yes, you study them for a minute and then forget it the next minute. It definitely was a nightmare.
You must have had a great mentor @G.Maha.
