It’s not about heavy or light
Breakfast should always have a mixture of protein, carbs and healthy fat
Some say breakfast should be heavy, followed by light lunch.
Ideally your breakfast should include
40% carbs, 30% protein, 30% healthy fats.
You should get your day’s calories intake counted so that you achieve your fitness goals!
heavy breakfast makes me nauseous…
Nutritionists often suggest a balanced breakfast, not necessarily heavy or light, but rich in protein, fiber, and healthy fats.
Light breakfast
An ideal breakfast should include good amount of protein, some complex carbohydrates and healthy fats like nuts… this will make sure there is no immediate sugar crash after few hours which is essential.
Something light.
You are wrong, you can have heavy breakfast, add salad to lunch and keep it heavy but eat less than your appetite in dinner or skip it or eat very light food in dinner like khichdi and dal rice
I heard it somewhere that goes like
Take a breakfast like a king and have your dinner like a begger !
Which means have your breakfast full of protein carb and good fats and have so lite dinner
Personally, I feel a heavier breakfast works better for me in the morning. When I have something more filling—like eggs, toast, or even some oatmeal with fruits—I feel more energized and focused throughout the morning. A heavy breakfast helps me stay full longer, so I’m not constantly thinking about food by mid-morning. That said, I’ve tried light breakfasts like fruits or a smoothie, and while they don’t slow me down, I find I get hungrier faster, which can make me feel sluggish or less productive before lunch. So, for me, a hearty breakfast is key to kick-starting the day!
I prefer to eat heavy breakfast which keeps me energized throughout the day. I track my calories so I eat usually around 600-800 calories in breakfast which is a good balance of carbs, protein, fibers while keeping the fat content low.
Whether a heavy or light breakfast is better depends on your lifestyle and goals.
I prefer heavy breakfast as it provides sustained energy for long, active mornings and prevent overeating later.
Light breakfast suits those with less morning appetite or intermittent fasting routines.
I opt for a light breakfast, such as oatmeal with fruits or whole-grain toast with eggs, to boost energy and support a productive day.
But if you do some heavy work which involves lifting, running, etc. you can prefer heavy breakfast.
