At first, it was about the Dr. prefix and not wanting to settle for a regular degree.
But somewhere along the sleepless nights, ward rounds, and watching patients heal, I found a deeper meaning.
Pharm D wasn’t my first plan, but maybe it was the right one all along.
It taught me resilience, purpose, and how to show up for someone on their worst day.
In general, if the neet doesn’t go as planned the very next option the person prefers is pharmacy . Though I am not in the field of pharmacy i hear people talking good about this field that there is a vast chance present in this like pharmacovigilance, clinical trial associate etc.,
Interested in clinical field, another chance to get prefix Dr.
Future scope point of view.
As healthcare professional, direct communication with community health issues.
NEET didn’t go well, so I couldn’t get into BVSc. I didn’t want to repeat a year, so I went ahead with my second plan — B Pharmacy. During BPharm, I was actually planning to go for medicinal chemistry specialization, but when I discussed it with my guides, they weren’t very happy with that choice due to limited scope.
After my BPharm, my father had to undergo surgery. During that time, I got exposed to clinical settings, and somewhere I started developing an interest in the clinical side. I started searching more about it, explored options, and then discussed it again with my mentors. And that’s how I ended up choosing Pharm D. Honestly, didn’t plan it this way, but I’m here now.
Anyone else here with a BPharm-to-PharmD journey?
My dream is to become a doctor and work in the hospital to serve the patients;raise the better health outcome in people. As I didnot enter MBBS I was advised for an alternative course where i could help the patients regarding their health and work as an clinical Pharmacists in india but PharmD is well recognised in abroad so that there will be good oppurtunities in future.
My reasons are actually two. I didn’t clear NEET with excellent score, but still has the passion about serving the patients. PharmD seemed like God has opened doors for me. I like this field, I know it’s not developed but honestly it is starting to get recognised and respected. Slowly but surely, we will a integral part of a medical team.
To be honest, NEET didn’t go as planned.
At that time, I felt lost and unsure… but I knew I wanted to stay close to the medical field. That’s when I chose B.Pharm not as a first dream, but as a fresh start.
At first, I thought it was just a backup. But slowly, I started discovering the depth of pharmacy from how medicines are made to how they heal lives.
Still figuring things out, still a little messy but I’m growing into it.
And maybe this wasn’t Plan A, but it’s still becoming my plan
even i didn’t choose PharmD , i think i am eligible to answer as i have choosen b pharm , all the above reasons above mention are not valid in my case , i was a descent student with excellent performace, but the day came after my 12th , about choosing field at start my teachers at college made me curious about MBBS but there was one faculty who explained why only pharma , it was not one day motivational class about pharma but a whole 2 years went and i explored this sectors , at start this intrest was as less as loan intrest may be 8%, but now i am in my third year and typing this message is enough to show how much i am loving this field.
