Well that’s interesting, some of the things that I would recommend him to consume are:
•lemon water
•Amla if he can eat it raw
•Nimbu ka Achar because that’s easily available in every Indian household
•Oranges
•Mosambis raw if not then juiced
•Pineapples
What else ?? Let me know what are the pther sources

Amla and Guavas are the highest concentration vit C if I remember my biochemistry correctly. They are pretty cheap as well.

Considering Vit C tablets are 5 rupees for 10 tablets (50 paisa each tablet) at JanAushadi, I don’t think it gets cheaper than that.

Guys, all good answers!
As @Jaideep pointed out - Vit C is the cheapest source :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes::grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:.
One of my classmates in pediatrics viva was asked the cheapest source of white vitamin C. He answered vitamin C tablets. Even though he was right, he was rebuked as if he has done a crime. But the fact remains that vitamin C tablets remain the cheapest source of Vit C in India at least, not in the US where Pharma industry is hell bent upon milking the people. And they do a lot of lobbying, feed senators a lot of money (= corruption) and exploit the people.
