Your first hour in the morning can make or break your whole day.
Here are four simple steps to try:
1. Stay Away from Your Phone
Try not to look at your phone for the first 30 to 60 minutes after you wake up. Checking messages or news right away can make your brain feel stressed and busy before you even get out of bed.
If you use your phone as an alarm, put it on airplane mode before you sleep. This way, you won’t see any notifications until you are fully awake and ready.
2. Drink Some Warm Water
After sleeping all night, your body is thirsty. Before you make your tea or coffee, drink a big glass of warm water first. It’s a simple way to wake up your insides and get your body going.
Add a squeeze of lemon for some extra freshness!
3. Move Your Body for 30 Minutes
Get your blood flowing with some light exercise. You don’t have to do a hard workout just 30 minutes of stretching, a brisk walk, or some easy yoga is perfect. The goal is just to move and feel good.
4. Take a Refreshing Shower
After you’ve moved your body, step into the shower. It washes away sleep and leaves you feeling fresh and clean.
For an extra energy boost, try switching to cool water for the last 30 seconds.
Once you finish these steps, you’ll feel awake, hydrated, and full of energy. You’ll be ready to take on your day feeling calm and in control not rushed or stressed by your phone.
