Situational Depression

Also knowns as Reactive depression.

** It is a strong emotional response to significant life events, such as losing a loved one or experiencing a natural disaster.

** Unlike typical grief, which is a normal reaction to loss, situational depression involves a more intense response.

** It also differs from clinical depression (major depression), as situational depression typically develops within three months of the triggering event, while clinical depression can occur without any specific trigger.

Symptoms:

— Impulsive or reckless behavior

— Headaches, stomachaches or muscle tension

— Anger or irritability

— Changes in appetite

— Trouble sleeping
