🧼 Sanitizer Overuse: Are We Trading One Health Risk for Another?

The pandemic taught us the value of hand hygiene but in the process, have we unknowingly created a new kind of health concern?

We now live in a world where sanitizing has become reflexive, not always mindful. But what happens when protection becomes overuse?

:microscope: Emerging concerns:

Constant exposure to alcohol-based sanitizers can disrupt the skin microbiome, our natural defense layer.

Micro-abrasions and skin dryness may actually increase vulnerability to infections.

Over-sanitizing may reduce exposure to low-level microbes that help train our immune system, especially in children.

And alarmingly, excessive antiseptic use could be contributing to antimicrobial resistance, one of the biggest global health threats.

So the real question is:
:brain: Are we protecting ourselves in the short term, while weakening our defenses in the long run?

So,
What’s the right balance between being cautious and being excessive?
Are we becoming too dependent on products that were meant for temporary crisis use?

Let share your thoughts I might be helpful us to know…

Every one should be cautioned but being excessive can lead to certain conditions . As subsequent use of antibiotics can lead to bacterial resistance the thing suits this.
We are practiced to the temporary things that cure or provide fast benefits to us. That can’t be completely fixed but can change .

Very true. And not all sanitizers may be produced with a completely non-toxic formula. There are many risks to hand sanitization externally and internally. The portion that gets absorbed by the skin itself is harmful let alone ingesting it.
