Opportunities: Not always welcomed

We cry for opportunities , when we get it we turn down that. And then start crying and complaining that we are not getting opportunities. How to deal with this?

Start saying yes with intention, not fear.
Opportunities don’t wait they grow when you show up, not when you hesitate.

That’s so true and something many of us go through.
Sometimes fear, self-doubt or overthinking makes us step back even when the opportunity is right in front of us. To deal with this, I think it’s important to stay self-aware—ask ourselves why we’re hesitating. Is it fear of failure? Or feeling not good enough?
Reminding ourselves that growth comes from stepping out of our comfort zone can help. Even small steps forward matter. Opportunities won’t always feel easy—but if we wait for the “perfect” moment, we might miss out on something great.

Mostly it’s because we are not ready for the commitment. With every new role comes responsibility. If you get an offer to become student council, there will be times where you will have to stay back and work extra. So your study time might get reduced. So, a person should we skilled at multi- tasking in order to take up new opportunity.

Approach each opportunity with confidence and say yes to it.
Opportunity will come for one time, if we lose it means that’s it, so utilize each chance in better way.

It has happened with me a lot of time as well.

And I was conscious towards it that I am neglecting the opportunities. That awareness leads me to take some potential steps so that I can came out from my comfort zone.

The only approach that makes me to accept those opportunities by positively thinking like - " You are not the only one. There will be people like you at the place where you are going. Every professional have their first day in their respective field for once in their life - and likewise it is your first day only"

This is indeed a pattern with me as well , to cope up with this pattern i have to remind myself with emotions like fear , i will not be able to prosper in any field i go to . So sometimes instead of running away just face it and i assure you this will make you stronger.

Opportunity is not always welcome because it often arrives with high risks and challenges. Sometime people may feal fear failure and they prefer comfort over growth.

Opportunities should be welcomed, but hoping to get a better opportunity than the current one is making some people regret their choices. The point is, we should start somewhere. Sometimes it happens for good or sometimes make bad life choices.

This entire sentence represents me. I was scared to speak to people, which ruined the opportunities I could’ve gotten. It was a mental block for me, so I even avoided phone calls from people I didn’t know. My first approach was to slowly connect with seniors by asking them how they got internships via LinkedIn. I’m still working on it btw, but do push yourself out of your comfort zone. All the best :))

It’s because sometimes we loose trust on our self and till the time we realize it already too late.

Someone wise said once -
“If you had one shot , one opportunity, to seize everything you ever wanted , in one moment would you capture it or let it slip”

I think the responsibility of the opportunity is a thing behind declining opportunities, it takes courage to do something that’s needed, people do settle for less and still complain that they could have done better but when the opportunity knocks they flinch. They failed to take the hard and right decision… that’s why they cry …I suggest you to take a deep breath, think for a moment before you say yes or no…

(If you know who said the quote, then you aren’t the one who’s going to miss any opportunity)

Yah it’s true…but according to my dictionary F-E-A-R has two meanings

  1. F-E-A-R : Forget Everything and Run
  2. F-E-A-R: Face Everything and Rise
So now it’s up to you which one to choose, if you have mindset of believing in yourself then obviously you will choose the second one and grab the opportunity.

Many of us are not taking up the opportunity as they fear it would be not appropriate for them. As many companies come out to be fake.

That’s so true @poonam1 It’s human nature , we fear facing new situations , work load and step back but these are the real opportunities where we should show up with full determination and they will definitely guide us to grow further towards our goal

Not all opportunities are meant to be welcomed. Some of these are disguised as one, but they come without any learning arc and are meant solely to overburden you with mindless, repetitive tasks.
