Every exam season we hear the same advice — wake up early, study at sunrise, follow a strict morning routine. But honestly, does one study pattern work for everyone?
I realized during my exam preparation that I am naturally a night owl. No matter how many alarms I set, waking up early never worked for me. Instead of fighting my body clock, I changed my strategy. I started studying at night when my mind felt calmer, distractions were fewer, and concentration was stronger.
One thing I learned is that completing the entire syllabus, even once, gives confidence. You may not remember everything perfectly, but at least during exams you can write something from every topic. That feeling reduces anxiety a lot.
Many students feel guilty for not following the “ideal” routine, but preparation is personal. Some people revise best at 5 AM, others understand concepts better at midnight. The real question is not when you study, but how consistently you study and whether your method actually works for you.
I often wonder — are we preparing for exams based on productivity or just following habits that work for others?
Are you a night owl or an early bird when it comes to studying, and why do you think that style works for you?
