Morning People vs. Evening Owls

Some people feel most energized and productive early in the day, while others thrive during the late hours of the night. We’d love to hear your thoughts, experiences, and preferences.

What do you think being a “morning person” or “evening owl” is a matter of biology or habit?

I am a late night guy (when freed from the necessity to go to work). Definitely not an early morning person.

I was a normal person until I discovered the hack of “more study time” during my 12th grade :light_bulb: and then during my 2nd year of Bachelor’s I discovered magic of revenge bedtime procrastination. :smiling_face_with_horns:

It’s safe to say that I have been converted into a night owl from a normal bird?

On the other hand science says maybe we are built a certain way due to our genetic makeup!

Here’s an excerpt from Psychiatry Online:

“A genetic variant in the CRY1 gene, a circadian clock gene, is associated with a condition called Delayed Sleep Phase Disorder (DSPD), often referred to as being a “night owl”.”

It maybe a mix of both… maybe you can cope as a night owl better because of the gene?

Its more about habit and our body will adapt to the time automatically.
Depending upon one’s life and schedule both habits are justified .

Biology gives us a starting time, but habit sets the alarm. I think we adapt based on what life demands or when the stress of “DEADLINES” hits
