How to stay same during exams and postings?
During exams, I try to stay calm and focused.
Maintaining my routine, prioritizing self-care, and remind myself of my preparation.
Always believe in your abilities and tackle each question confidently.
I tried calming myself with good food and 1 episode of my fav series or anime that helped me keep my sane.
I use a technique called - “10 yrs down the line I won’t remember these marks, nor will these marks affect my position 10 yrs down.”
this way I am in touch with how useless and stupid every single exam is
Exams do induce some kind of concern (or, anxiety if you will) which is not bad if handled properly. That extra adrenaline rush helps us to study a better in fact.
But we must avoid the anxiety that comes from the pin drop silence in the hostel during exam nights. That terrifies.
To stay consistent during exams and postings, prioritize a balanced daily routine—ensure 6-7 hours of quality sleep, eat nutritious meals, and stay hydrated. Break your study into focused, manageable sessions with short breaks to avoid burnout. Keep physical activity—even a short walk—to refresh your mind. Manage stress with deep breathing or mindfulness techniques. Stay organized with a realistic timetable, and don’t cram; instead, revise regularly. Most importantly, listen to your body—rest when needed to maintain energy and focus throughout.
Proper sleep is also very important for our brain to function…
It’s very important to calm yourself during exam period. As medicos, we have a lot of syllabus to cover in a short span of time. What i suggest is
- dividing the time across subjects and doing major important topics first
We all know passing is our prime agenda, by doing the important topics first atleast that will be guaranteed - do frequent revision with flashcards. It’s not possible for us to remember everything at once so multiple revision is impt
- take adequate rest, 5-6 hrs minimum during exam time
- stay hydrated and don’t skip on meals
- use phone or insta less, stop scrolling reels and actually go and study
At the end, it’s MBBS passing an exam isn’t tough unless you make a big blunder
Thanks
