Somewhere between exams, internships, and career decisions, many of us feel lost.
We see others moving fast…choosing degrees, getting placements, planning their future…while we’re still stuck thinking, “What am I supposed to do next?”
But confusion doesn’t mean you’re failing.
Sometimes, it means you’re thinking deeply. It means you care enough not to choose blindly. It means you’re trying to understand what truly fits you.
In healthcare especially, there’s no single “correct” path. Clinical, industry, research, higher studies…each journey looks different. Taking time to figure it out isn’t weakness, it’s clarity in progress.
Growth isn’t always confident or loud. Sometimes it looks like doubt, reflection, and slow decisions.
Couldn’t agree more to you! A lot of us face this at some point in our life, when we choose to reflect on which path to choose and if it truly aligns with our goals, it is very important to understand that there is no race, comparison will only result in doubts and anxiety, and everybody has a different goal and timeline.
I completely agree with you. All of us, at least once during our student life, must have been through this phase. There’s nothing one can do about it. Instead, just take a deep breath and let fate decide what’s meant for you.
Felt every word. In every situation, I feel paralyzed by overthinking—I can’t dare take even a single step forward. I constantly worry that if I’m not 100% clear, it will ruin my career. It makes me feel like I’m not brave enough, especially when I see everyone else making decisions while I’m still stuck, unable to decide on my career path.
I think many of us experience this phase of confusion, especially when transitioning from what we studied during our undergraduate and postgraduate training to aligning ourselves with a completely new field.
Agree with you. Confusion is such a common thing when you have multiple options and think about everything it is bound to create confusions. As you rightly said it is a sign of thinking.
This resonates deeply. Confusion is often a sign of self-awareness, not failure. Taking time to choose intentionally, especially in healthcare, is quiet courage, not delay.
Really relatable! Confusion doesn’t mean you’re failing - it often shows you’re thinking deeply, reflecting on your choices, and trying to understand what truly fits you, which is an important part of personal and professional growth.
Yes, growth is not always exponential graph it is sometimes a plateau phase as well but that doesn’t mean that you’ve failed. It signifies that your growth is maintained.
Yes—confusion can be a sign of growth. It often reflects self-awareness, critical thinking, and the courage to pause rather than rush into choices that don’t align. Especially in healthcare, where paths are diverse and nonlinear, uncertainty is part of forming clarity. Growth isn’t always decisive; sometimes it’s quiet reflection that leads to the right direction.
