How do insects appear in sealed grain containers

How many of you have bought a sealed packet of grain from a trusted store, stored it in an airtight container in a clean and dry place; and still found insects inside it after sometime? You are sure there was no way for the insect to enter inside, then how did it appear?

The insects may not have entered from outside. Eggs might have been already present inside the grains, when it was brought home or may be even before that. If proper pest control measures are not taken at earlier stages, these eggs remain undetected and wait for favourable conditions to hatch. We notice only after insects appear because eggs are very small and almost invisible to our eyes.

This left me wondering how something could have started long before we noticed it and what else might be happening around us, of which we are not yet aware!

Insects appear in sealed grain containers may be due to presence of larvae or microscopic eggs which are already present in grain kernels even before they were packed or sealed.
