Happy National Doctors Day : the honest version

Doctors’ Day is a good reminder that behind every prescription is someone who skipped lunch to see one more patient. Behind every “you’ll be okay” is a person who’s been up since 5 AM, running on coffee and instinct.

It’s easy to forget doctors are people too — juggling deadlines, difficult days, and the silent pressure of getting it right, every single time.

So heres to the doctors who show up, again and again, even on the difficult stressful days. Not for the applause, just because that’s who they are.

Happy Doctors’ Day ! Grateful to know some doctors who genuinely make a difference

To Every Doctor Who Felt They Weren’t ‘Enough’

  • Didn’t get their dream rank.
  • Chose a pre-clinical specialty.
  • Took a career break.
  • Left clinical practice.
  • Started something new.

Your white coat was never defined by someone else’s expectations.

Thank you for this, Prisha.

“Not for the applause, just because that’s who they are” is one of the most honest things written about doctors that I’ve seen in a long time.

I think what makes this profession quietly hard is the accumulation of small moments and not the big dramatic ones.

Some things that most outsiders would never notice like the lunch you skipped or the patient who left without saying thank you or the days you held it together in the room and fell apart in the corridor after.

Happy Doctors’ Day to everyone here who knows exactly what that corridor feels like.
