Happy Doctors’ Day to all the superheroes out there!
If I could thank one doctor, it would be the orthopedic surgeon who fixed my broken arm when I was 7. I was crying so loudly the entire hospital could hear me, and in the middle of that, he calmly asked, “Who is your teacher?” I remember thinking, is this really the time to ask that?. But somehow, that question distracted me. He later gave me gifts for being “so cooperative.” I’ll never forget that kindness. Thank you, doctor.

A very Happy National Doctors Day to everyone out there!
A Humanitarian profession that never demands but only delivers selflessly to mankind.

And also Though, there are so many scenarios we all must have been through - where our doctors have helped us in every bit of those mild fever to the serious health complications.

I really want to spotlight one incident of my life which I could never ever get forget. It was during the COVID time - the phase of which everyone must have a story.
Being from some sort of rural region + Red zone in that time, it was getting very difficult to get even tested for the COVID. Hospitals were rushed so badly that even a thought of going outside to get the treatment was like a nightmare.

It was a horrible experience as the condition of our very close one, was not so good. But between all this chaos, a general physician in our area, Dr. Ravi - over literally helping people in the best way possible - came out as a miracle in our lives. Likewise, he literally help so many lives in that crucial time.

A Thank you would be a very less to such souls. Really Grateful to all such superheroes.

I still remember, our family was going through our toughest and nerve wrecking time when my father got a heart attack .. he was a lean healthy person.. and all his reports were keeping normal .. it was the cardio thoracic surgeon Dr. S K Nair who guided and explained every procedure before the bypass surgery.. even though he was a leading surgeon, he patiently cleared all my queries and concerns.. he even kept a good rapport even in post op and routine check ups.. can never forget that doctor. He was a God send for me during that time. He eased half my stress and my family’s.

I can’t just thank one doctor, so I would like to thank the whole team of doctors of Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences & Technology, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, who treated my mother’s syringomyelia in 2008. I might have not understood the severity, complexity and seriousness of that major neurosurgery at the age of 9 but as I got older and did my research, I was grateful that they caught it and performed the surgery with such care.

If I could thank a doctor today with the bottom of my heart, it would be Dr. Jitendra Rajput, for giving me and my family hope when I was battling a near death situation in the ICU and helping me get better today. He would walk into the ICU towards me during each round and tell me ‘You are a fighter, nothing should scare you the moment you step out of here today’.
A doctor heals and treats you, but they also fill you with strength and positivity that they carry within themselves.
A Very Happy Doctor’s Day to all fellow doctors and future doctors :stethoscope: :man_superhero:

Happy Doctors Day to every doctor who shows up on the hardest days and still keeps going -even the aspiring students who try their best to be there one day !

If I could thank a doctor today it would be the team of orthopedic doctors I shadowed in Sathya Sai Hospital during my first clinical experience.
We had a young patient who had a severe case of scoliosis and the way the doctor explained the procedure also reassured the anxious family with honesty and warmth left a lasting impact on me. The doctors handled the case really well.
It reminded me that while all doctors heal patients, the truly good ones ease hearts too. This experience shaped the kind of doctor I want to be.

Since childhood, I have admired my family doctor for listening intently rather than just treating illnesses. He instilled in me that gaining a patient’s trust begins with empathy and not with prescriptions. It was his gentle kindness, a real connection with his patients, that inspired me to enter medicine. I do not want to be just a doctor; I want to be his kind of doctor.

Happy doctors day!

Happy National Doctor’s Day, I would like to thank Dr Poornima Pai who treated my mom when she had Gastro- intestinal disease and my cousin Dr Athriya Pai( Anesthesiologist) for her guidance and support.

My mom was unable to eat a mild spicy food or outside food for a long time. Sometimes even without eating those she had stomach pain and couldn’t sleep properly. She tried various medicines but it didn’t resolve. Then we consulted Dr Poornim Pai, she made the right diagnosis and gave her the necessary treatment and diet modification. My mom’s disease was cured and she could eat everything without any stress.

Dr. Zulfiya for her calm guidance during stressful clinical postings and her genuine care for students reminded me why I chose medicine. I want to thank Dr Vera, my physiology teacher who gave me an amazing push and support during my academics in 2nd year.
COVID was a tough time and I got sick, she was the one who used to motivate me and talk to me on Facebook to keep me going. Not only for her subject but also for other tough subjects like biochemistry and microbiology, she helped a lot.
I will never forget her part in my life and I thank her from the bottom of my heart for making my life easy during my tough time away from my family. :hibiscus::purple_heart:

I would thank to Dr. Shenoy, who inspired me. He is a paediatric doctor, who treated in my childhood. I just want to see him to be away from disease. His presence itself will relieve my disease. In this doctor’s day I am remembering him.

“In their hands lies science, in their heart lies humanity.”

Truly grateful for the ones who heal with skill and soul!

Doctors’ Day is celebrated in the name of renowned doctor and Bharat Ratna winner Bidhan Chandra Roy, who was a scholar and a physician who served Mahatma Gandhi and other freedom fighters. He was behind the foundation of the Indian Medical Association as well. He brought public health issues to light. Today, he has made us what we are – healthcare personnel. Doctors are considered next to God because they are the ones we go to in case of our health and ailments. They save lives, work harder than 9-to-5 jobs, sometimes keeping their families and needs secondary.

A striking thing I learned today is that today is also CA Day, probably reinforcing the idea that health is indeed wealth.

So a Happy Doctor’s Day!!
