Some days in medicine don’t feel inspiring.
They don’t feel like growth.
They don’t even feel like purpose.
They feel heavy.
You wake up tired.
You go through the motions.
You talk to patients, but somewhere inside, you feel disconnected.
And then comes the guilt—
“Why am I feeling like this?”
“Am I even meant for this?”
But here’s something we don’t say enough in healthcare—
Not every day will feel meaningful.
Not every day will remind you why you started.
And still… you show up.
That counts.
Even on the days when your mind is exhausted,
when your heart feels distant,
when you feel like you’re just existing through your profession—
You are still doing more than you think.
Maybe being a doctor isn’t about feeling passionate every single day.
Maybe it’s about staying, even on the days you want to walk away.
And if today feels like that day—
you’re not alone.
