With the news channels airing all sorts of big/small, negative/positive, constructive/destructive snippets of information around the healthcare industry, how do we see each other??
My family has been in the healthcare industry, on the front line for 2 generations now. Every other doctor in their college, hospital holds an unsaid bond of support, strength and familiarity, even of they know no more than each others names.
They’ve got each others’ backs in conferences, toward other students, institutes and won’t shy away to put in a good word when needed for the purposes of visas, new jobs, placements etc.
Even their children who begin their journeys as HCPs in training become unsaid mentees at work.
This has varied from time and place here and there often due to a heavily critical work environment at times.
But I believe, having a bond out of work where you hold high regards to those who work alongside you becomes a norm over time.
As family fraternity, how would you approach a colleague/boss/student/intern when they make an unpardonable mistake at work?
What is at stake then?
When does toxic competitiveness enter our homes?
What is unpardonable in this scenario?
