What are the most common household first aids we can use in absence of medicines or until we get a medical hand?

For Cough you can use honey and turmeric powder

For cuts and scrapes using turmeric is the best option which helps in clotting

These are some Home made health hacks

Ice packs can reduce swelling and ease pain.
Aloe vera gel soothes burns and minor cuts.
Honey’s antibacterial properties aid wound healing.
Baking soda neutralizes acid burns and relieves heartburn.
Turmeric’s anti-inflammatory properties help minor injuries.
Coconut oil moisturizes and soothes minor burns.
These household items provide temporary relief until medical help is available.

Hot water bag- Stomach pain
Tulsi ginger tea- Cough and cold
Honey- Reduce nausea, vomiting, diarrhea
Fenugreek water- Menstrual cramps

Depends on the situation really

Salt water – Great for sore throat gargles or cleaning wounds.
Cold compress – For sprains, bumps, burns, or fevers.
Aloe vera – Instant relief for minor burns or skin irritation.
Soap + water – Honestly the best wound cleanser before dressing.
Honey – Mild antiseptic; can help soothe coughs or minor cuts.
Turmeric paste – Old-school but helps clot small bleeding wounds.
Banana peel – Weirdly soothing on insect bite

Baking soda and water is also great for insect bites. It’s a great temporary relief.

Salt and sugar solution to maintain BP.

One thing my mom always does—and I’ve kind of picked it up too—is using cold milk compresses for minor burns. It actually gives instant relief and helps calm the skin down. For small cuts, applying a mix of honey and turmeric also works surprisingly well.

Common household first aids include

  • clean cloth for bleeding
  • cold compress for bruises
  • honey for burn
  • sugar for hypoglycemia
  • turmeric for wounds
  • ORS for dehydration
  • soap for cleaning cuts.
