Bacteria That Turn Toxins into Treasure

Gold from Microbes

Did you know some bacteria can actually create real gold?
Yes, it’s not science fiction it’s science at work!
Researchers have discovered that Cupriavidus metallidurans, a metal-loving microbe, has the incredible ability to transform toxic gold compounds into solid, pure gold nuggets. These microbes survive in harsh environments filled with heavy metals and use enzymatic processes to detoxify their surroundings — turning gold chloride into elemental gold (Au⁰) in the process.
Ever heard of such “gold-digging” microbes before?
