Silver Diamine Fluoride (SDF) is a liquid used to stop tooth decay without drilling. It contains silver, which kills bacteria, and fluoride which strengthens teeth.
SDF is especially helpful for young children, elderly patients, or those with special needs, as it’s quick, painless, and non-invasive.
One downside is that it stains the decayed part of the tooth black, but this shows the treatment is working.
