Physician is now a Researcher and a Statistician
Integration of Research methodology and biostatistics in syllabus of BAMS course has paved a powerful foundation for Ayurvedacharya to achieve success in various career fields.
It offers an urge to know Ayurveda in complete manner, it fascinates young students of Ayurveda to read more as this type of learning makes you available in current world scenario. Traditional Ayurveda learning is still not completely accepted by the students, they compare themselves continuously to modern medicine student. But in my UG years I’ve seen people wanting to learn “meta physics” of Ayurveda. Meta physics of Ayurveda is the deeper understanding of basic principles of Ayurveda and its origin. Conditioning of our mind has been done in a way to adapt modern terminologies more faster than the traditional one’s. So understanding Ayurveda through the lens of Research Methodology and Biostatistics is something a budding Ayurvedacharya yearns for.
Paper presentations and curiosity in literature gaps provides a stunning turn towards higher cognitive skills. Few years back BAMS course was seen as a substitute for those who didn’t achieve a MBBS course admission but this powerful curriculum is making it amends with past mistakes of underestimating the power of science that Ayurveda holds in it.
