That’s so true. The mindset of people can’t be changed. They don’t know the reality.

Absolutely, there’s definitely peer pressure among lecturers too. Many feel the need to maintain a certain image, nice cars, branded clothes, just to match their peers, even if their salary doesn’t always support it. It’s a quiet pressure that often goes unnoticed.

I’ve definitely noticed that. It’s interesting how many professors seem to maintain a certain lifestyle, despite the starting packages not being very high. I think it’s possible that there’s some peer pressure to keep up appearances, especially in a competitive academic environment like a medical college. They might feel the need to project a certain image to maintain respect and authority both from students and peers.

It’s a bit of a balancing act (between personal finances and maintaining that professional image).

Doctors and healthcare professionals work hard and earn a good living because of their expertise and long hours. They often expect a comfortable standard of living due to their high level of education and responsibility.

Yes That’s true, It feels like there’s silent competition among the professors to look successful — good cars, branded clothes, etc. Even if their salary is not very high, they might feel pressured to maintain a certain image in front of students, colleagues, and society. In a way, it’s like they’re expected to “look the part” of being in a respected profession, which might lead to spending more than they earn sometimes.

I believe this is true. The saturation in this field is largely due to the supposed standard of living and money that is projected in popular culture. But with how times have changed, luxuriant living is no more a guarantee with medicine.
