Alkaline Foods : just a trend?

I feel the whole ‘alkaline foods’ idea is becoming more of a trend than a real necessity. Eating balanced, fresh and simple meals has always worked better for me than following these overly hyped food labels. At the end of the day, our body knows how to maintain its own balance, we just need to support it with sensible eating, not strict trendy diets.

Alkaline diets are trendy eating patterns built on the belief that “alkaline” foods can balance the body’s pH, something our organs already regulate on their own. They’ve become popular because social media, wellness influencers, and the appeal of simple health hacks make them sound convincing. In reality, the trend is more about hype than science, which is why it keeps resurfacing despite weak medical evidence.

Alkaline foods are those which maintains the body pH. Some of the alkaline foods are fruits, vegetable, and the recent trend - alkaline water. It is good to takecare of your health, aiming to stay fit, but this type of trends often causes useless stress over eating habits. True nutrition comes from balance, not just fruits and nuts.

Just a trend. Nothing else. Our body requires alkaline foods (fruits, vegetables) as well as acidic foods (meat, poultry and dairy products). A well balanced diet is the real way to live a healthy lifestyle. Always.

Few people might consume alkaline food as an obsession or as a trend, but if I talk about the brighter side of consuming the alkaline food is actually very beneficial for human body as it is less acidic and have a higher ph that helps reducing acidity in human body and improve health in many aspects.
But few people are practicing it as a rigid rule that turns their rigidity into an obsession.

Alkaline foods mostly fruits, veggies, nuts, and seeds are popular because people believe they balance pH, even though the body does that on its own. Their rise is mainly due to wellness trends promoting cleaner, plant-rich eating. The benefits come from better nutrition, not from actually altering body pH.

Social media also plays a big role in pushing this trend.People are talking about alkaline foods more these days because many are tired of lifestyle diseases and junk food, and eating more fruits and vegetables simply makes them feel healthier.

Alkaline diet is a pseudoscience.The foods included in the alkaline diet are mostly vegetables, nuts,fruits and eating them will benefit in the person because of their nutritional value.Foods cannot regulate the pH of the blood. Restricting entire food groups (like grains and proteins) can lead to nutrient deficiencies if not carefully managed

Alkaline foods are often promoted as a wellness trend, but our body tightly regulates blood pH on its own. While such diets may encourage more fruits and vegetables, the health claims are sometimes exaggerated. It’s important to separate nutritional benefits from marketing hype and focus on balanced eating.

It is believed that they reduce acidity, supports better digestion, and reduces bloating.

Definitely a trend which is encouraging healthy eating but with a wrong concept.
