Yes, looking at its benefits, alfalfa can be definitely considered as a functional food of the future.

Alfalfa is considered as nature’s nutrient powerhouse as it contains the vitamins, iron , calcium, anti oxidant and anti inflammatory agents. On the other hand alfalfa is useful remedy in homeopathy as it available in various forms such as Mother tincture, tablets , potency . I would like to emphasize that it is useful in weight gain as it influences nutrition. Apart from this also used in nursing women as it increases quality and quantity of milk who have been suffering with deficient lactation.

nice topic thanks for telling advantages of alfalfa will surely read more and implement in my day to day life

Although alfa-alfa is called the “queen of forages”, it is very high in protein and is recommended to be given in cautiously to livestock as it can cause severe bloat. Similarly, in humans it can interact with blood thinners, produce estrogenic effects if consumed by pregnant people and worsen SLE and if consumed raw can cause food poisoning due to E.Coli and Salmonella. Therefore, its use needs to be done with caution and more research is required on its effects on humans.
