Take your hands off the keypad and give your wrists a small exercise
Close your eyes for 5 minutes and sit back
Get up and walk for five to ten minutes
Roll your neck gently to ease the stiffness
Hydrate yourself, not with an energy drink but with water
These aren’t big exercises or tasks, but they can have a big impact if you do them daily.
Self-care need not always mean treating yourself to a day out or a fixed time on weekends.
The pause you give your body and the time to reset in between the rushes is also self-care.
Did you notice any difference? A sense of refreshment? Which of these actions do you do for your body and mind during a busy day?
This read came at the perfect time. As dentists, we spend so much time hunched over patients, dental chairs, or screens without realising how much physical tension we hold in our necks, backs, and wrists. Incorporating these few minutes for a deliberate physical reset makes a massive difference in preventing long-term musculoskeletal fatigue by the time we finish the day. Thanks for the cue to pause.
Thank you for small yet powerful reminder ! I take small breaks to drink water or close my eyes for 5 mins. It doesn’t seem like much but only those who have tried this in between know it does make a difference
People are giving more self caring themselves these days. People are taking breaks in between their work to freshen up. This helps in better work also and more productivity.
Great reminder for everyone that give little time to our body during tasks, we don’t want waste one minute on our body, whenever we get little time we start scrolling or in meantime we do small another task.
Yes Grounding and breathing helps me to centre myself. Every hour we can give ourselves break for few minutes to feel presence and not rush. I also prefer myself hydrating at regular intervals. Few of these practices can bring us back to the present moment.
