An Epidural hematoma is a collection of blood that forms between the skull and the outermost layer of the brain’s protective covering, called the dura mater.
This bleeding usually results from a tear in a blood vessel, often an artery, caused by a skull fracture or other head injury.
Symptoms: Headache, Nausea, Vomiting, Confusion.
Investigation: CT scan.
Treatment: Surgery, to relieve pressure and remove the blood clot.
