Hepatitis is inflammation of the liver and millions are living with it without even knowing.
On Hepatitis Day let’s know about Hepatitis A, B, C – What’s the Difference?
Hepatitis A
• Spread by contaminated food or water
• Preventable with a vaccine
• Usually short-term and self-limiting
Hepatitis B
•Spread via blood, unprotected sex, or mother to child
• Vaccine available
• Can become chronic and lead to liver failure or cancer
Hepatitis C
• Spread mostly via blood (needles, transfusions)
• No vaccine (yet)
• Curable with antiviral treatment
• Often silent until advanced liver damage Curable with antiviral treatment

Why It Matters:
• Over 350 million people live with chronic hepatitis B or C
• It causes more than 1.3 million deaths every year
• But it’s preventable, treatable, and in some cases—curable.
