Why Sneezing Into Your Elbows Matter?

Have you ever heard of sneezing into your elbow instead of hand?

The science behind it:

  • Sneezes can spray thousands of tiny droplets, carrying germs like cold viruses or flu bacteria.

  • Sneezing into your hands spreads germs to everything you touch - doorknobs, keyboards, phones and other people.

  • Sneezing into your elbow or upper arm keeps the germs contained and reduces the chance of infecting others.

Even if you sneeze into your elbow, wash your hands afterward because germs can still get onto your clothes.

It’s a small habit with a big impact. Protect yourself and others sneeze safely! Are you going to try this to prevent risk of infection?

Completely agree. A very socially responsible thing to do when you are sick. In other countries, it is a decent thing to wear a mask when you have a flu or cold. They consider it part of their manners. Also it is okay to sneeze into you T-shirt/Top as well if you cannot manage elbow.
