Did you know? Nearly 80% of infectious diseases spread by touch.
Proper handwashing with soap or alcohol-based sanitizer is still the most cost-effective and powerful way to prevent illnesses like flu, diarrhea, and even hospital-acquired infections.
Tip: Wash for at least 20 seconds, covering palms, between fingers, nails, and thumbs.
How often do you wash your hands in a day? Do you think people became more careless about it after COVID?
I wouldn’t say careless, but the frequency has reduced quite a lot. Care has to be taken when you’re in certain environments that deal with diseases on daily basis such as hospitals, labs, clinics, etc. Washing hands should be implemented on a regular basis otherwise you’re compromising yourself to diseases.
I wash my hand multiple times a day with dettol. During covid, people were using sanitizer, doing handwash much frequently but now it’s use has decreased significantly.
This post is a great reminder! During COVID, everyone was serious about hand hygiene, but now many seem to ignore it again. I feel handwashing is still very important, especially for students and healthcare workers. It’s such a simple habit but protects us from many infections. I try to wash my hands before eating, after travel, and after touching public surfaces. We should keep this habit alive, not just during pandemics.
Hand hygiene is one the small details that can have big impact on public health. During COVID, everyone was extra cautious, I do feel that noew some poeple have gone back to the old habit of not washing or sanitizing hands often. This is a good reminder that we should keep up with our habit of washing hands regularly specially before eating or touching our hands on our face.
Handwashing is a very easy practice that can help prevent illnesses. It’s something we should never overlook, even though many people did become more irresponsible about it once COVID regulations relaxed. I make an effort to wash my hands multiple times a day, particularly after being outside and before eating. It’s a tiny step that has an immense effect.
