Growth Plates (Epiphyseal plates)
Throughout childhood and adolescence, our long bones (like those in our legs and arms) have areas called growth plates, or epiphyseal plates. These are layers of cartilage located near the ends of the bones
The growth process:
As we grow, the cells in these cartilage plates multiply and produce new cartilage. This new cartilage then hardens and turns into bone, a process called ossification. This is what lengthens our bones and makes us taller.
Were you able to grow your height after 21 or have seen some patient to do it ?
