Recently, there were many instances in which there were several deaths due to rabies even after getting the vaccination. This paved the way for the common man to think about the effectiveness of the jab. Rabies has a high fatality rate, and the incubation period can extend up to 6 years, a peculiarity of rabies. If proper treatment is not administered promptly, the virus can spread rapidly, making recovery or reversal impossible.

Actually I haven’t. And this is really frightening & saddening that despite of having vaccine for this fatal condition, people have succumbed to death. Knowing many relatives call us for advice on dog/cat scratch and bite, the thought that they might still die because of rabies even after receiving all vaccine doses is very distressing.

Yes, recently for the past few months, news regarding deaths due to rabies is increasing. Despite being vaccinated, such cases are rising. Proper formulation of vaccine should be prepared and required or prescribed vaccination schedule should be followed in order to have the complete benefit from the vaccine.

Also, action against stray dogs is must, keeping the humanity intact while dealing with them.
