In India, what are the top branches (MD/MS) that MBBS grads opt for after cracking NEET-PG?
Pediatrics and Orthopedics
General surgery
Obstetrics and gynecology and Orthopedics
1.Radiology.
2.Dermatology.
3.Medicine.
They provide good earnings and better work life balance
In USA, Radio and Derm are highly sought after specialties.
I Think dermatology is the most demanding course in the nearby future
General medicine Also provide a flexible lifestyle
Based on individual interests it may vary. I was a NEET aspirant, always wanted to become a cardiologist. Nevertheless I worked in cardiology critical care unit as CP intern.
Sticking to the topic
Radiology - Great work life balance and extremely important role for diagnosing most diseases.
Dermatology - Work life balance, high demand and more money.
Internal Medicine - Good option to pursue super speciality later.
Anesthesiology is also in demand these days.
Can AI be threat to these branches in nearby future?
Rightly said. When I was opting for PG, I was hooked to Internal Medicine and Peds only. I could’ve easily gotten into radiology, anesthesiology, Ortho- but I did not care. My third choice was actually forensic medicine. So I chose pediatrics.
These days, we are more conscious about lifestyle, Night calls Vs mere OPD work. But many a time, the passion for the specialty trumps other considerations. For eg: I wanted to be an intensivist. Another example is, I cannot practice psychiatry even if I get a chance to, because practicing psychiatry is a different ball game together.
AI is going to affect literally all the specialities. Bill Gates said a few days back that teachers and doctors will lose their jobs in 10 years from now.
So let us see.
Which can be the top safe branches considering AI in next 10 years?
Endocrinology in my views.
Obgyn and Internal medicine
General Medicine
Pediatrics
Radiology
Internal Medicine
Dermatology
