What career advice do you wish someone gave you earlier?

I feel advices are necessary and sometimes it can actually guide us towards successful routes in our career. But, simultaneously I feel we all should carve out our own journey. Take advices from people, but the advice from most comes from a place what they have experienced or their personal outlook. We surely can take advices from the superiors in the field, as sometimes it can actually save us from taking a wrong quote, but we should also go ahead with what we want to do after a careful analysis and decision making and after doing all the research. So we can make a combined decision using an expert’s advice/view and what our heart and mind are saying in a combined manner. Sometimes, failure creates experiences like how in a research both positive and not-so-positive results are important to arrive at a conclusion. To know, what we want in life, sometimes we need to find out what we don’t want. So, few trials and errors are fine if we have to look forward to a professional journey of development, as that shapes our attribute more.

Sometime we should try some new things that can change your mind. And we should learn to say no to those things in which we don’t have intrest . We should set out aim that clearly define that what we want to achieve in our life

Interest is more important than simply following the crowd.

Don’t follow blindly something just because our friends are involved in it or close people are saying about it. We shouldn’t involve others choice or opinions in our brain and confuse our career thoughts.

One piece of advice I wish someone gave me earlier is that :Marks and degree is not everything. Skills matters the most, the earlier you learn the better it is .

Exploring everything which is beyond degree is helpful.

I sometimes wish someone had guided me earlier through the career path I’ve chosen -offering real insights and sharing the struggles that come with it.

Right now, my entire focus is on my career, but deep down.. I want to explore life beyond just work.

To be honest, I’ve never considered myself exceptionally intelligent, and I never wanted this much uncertainty in my life.

Would really appreciate if someone could guide

As a pharmacy student, I’ve felt this too — joining courses out of pressure. But now I believe saying no is also growth. Better to do what actually adds value to our journey, not just follow the crowd.

hi can u guide more about training or place where they provide the same

I wish someone had told me earlier about the many career options in pharmacy, not just hospital or retail jobs. There’s a lot more to explore!

Thanks for this precious advice

Start developing your skills, rather than getting high score in exams

Do certificate courses
Improve your connections
Under the current trends

I wish someone told me that it’s okay to change directions , that your first choice doesn’t have to be your forever choice. We often follow the crowd out of fear, not passion. But learning what doesn’t work for you is just as important as finding what does. Thanks for sharing this! :raising_hands:

This, this is the point. Do certification courses, explore everything you can.

Inner gut feel about yourself should be listened bcoz no one knows you better than you yourself

Before joining the course or degree i think we have to study fully regarding the course and college what college will be providing , understand the background of the college are they providing the placement practical exposure . Don’t trust any other words and blindly follow them . Make sure you verify everything yourself before making a decision .

Totally relate. I chose a path just because it felt “safe” and everyone else was doing it. Realized later it wasn’t for me. Quitting felt like failure, but it taught me more than finishing ever could. Sometimes walking away is growth too.

I wish someone has told me about that sometimes gaining practical knowledge is more important than having theoritical knowledge, like during practical times, or riding bikes on road, interacting with new peoples, etc. Also, I am a student who doesn’t like to revise same thing repeatedly, I get bored. Each time I feel like I should learn new things but in this loop I tend to forgot what I have learnt earlier due to lack of revision so I wish that someone should have told me about importance of revision in my studies.

If there’s no one to guide you properly, just do what your interest tells you and don’t regret anything afterwards. And when the time comes, make sure to guide your younger brothers and sisters properly so that they can make their decisions correctly.
